SNAKE GOURD SEED THOKKU




   INGREDIENTS:

SEEDS - 1/4 cup
CHANA DAL  - 1 tbsp
URAD DAL - 1 tbsp
COCONUT - 1 tsp
RED CHILLI - 2
SALT - as per taste
HING - a pinch
OIL - 1 tbsp
MUSTARD - 1 tsp 
CURRY leaf - few 

 # Cut the snake gourd in the middle and take out the center pulp from it.
 # Then remove the pulp around the seed completely. 
 # In a pan pour little oil then add Chana dal fry twice, then add on urad dal & chilli.
 # Now add the seeds & coconut and just a give a quick sauté and turn off the flame. 
 # Make sure not to over cook the seed (refer pic).
 # Let it cool and now add salt & hing and grind it into fine paste with very little water.
 # Take pan pour oil, mustard & curry leaf and tamper the thokku.
 # Serve hot with RICE.
 # This will go best with SEERAGA SAMBA rice.
